Really happy with this low profile full size 100%

Finally decided on buying the K5 (RGB / blue switch) keyboard after fully enjoying the original K1 Keytron, before it was named Keychron - got it on kickstarter long long long long ago in 2018?? Unfortunately, the switches and keys stopped working and became sticky.. no matter how much I cleaned them. So sad to throw it away.. but thankfully I found this one.

Also chose this version because I enjoy the RGB lighting and always prefer mechanical keyboards where the lighting shows through the alphanumeric keys. I notice the lighting on the other keyboards only show between the keycaps so that's why I didn't pick them.

Unfortunately, they do not have any other colours for keycap sets apart from black and white. I see their keycaps for other keyboards such as the unicorn, developer, player, ocean, etc and I seriously wish they could add some for the low profile K5's so I can buy 2-3 different versions.
But these colours are all non-shine-through keycaps. If they make other colours for the K5 low profile shine-through caps, I would definitely buy more!

Surprised!

I own both the low profile aluminum body K5 (browns) and the traditional aluminum body K4 (reds). I like the feel of both, though they are quite different. I will say that the low profile K5 was SURPRISINGLY quiet and ended up being the keyboard I decided to bring into the office. As someone who spends a majority of her time typing on a laptop, the membrane keys to the low profile K5 was an easy transition and overall, I really think it's an excellent keyboard for the money. However, I have two coworkers who purchased K5 SEs and noted that theirs came with collapsible feet. I cannot, for the life of me, understand why the more expensive aluminum body K5 does not. Without them, the keyboard actually tilts forward when placed on a flat surface. To remedy this, I bought a keyboard stand and a wrist pad to offset the stand. This was all super annoying for such a small, overlooked detail. Taking a half star for that, and frankly, I could have returned the K5 for a K5 SE.

It could be a good keybord, but it ain't.

If you are looking for a keyboard that you can work with late at night...
It is better to just get a white one which will be nicely visible in the
IPS monitor's light.

If you will go with K5, prepare to learn that:
- Bluetooth is actually terrible.
This keyboard could be good if it had its own receiver.

- Most eye-catching are the switches underneath the key caps.
'+' and 'enter' switches on the num pad are even turned 90° just to make
sure that this is what will shine in your eyes instead of the key symbols.
It can be fixed by painting the sides of the switches black.

- The brightest thing when wired is the battery indicator.
It would be nice if there was a way to turn it off, but there isn't.

- Key blocks are too close together, most noticeable right arrow and 0 from
numpad. You can buy beveled keycaps that solve this problem, but they are
not compatible with back-lighting, and paying another $30 for something that
should be the standard just doesn't seem right.

- Light bulb key cannot be remapped to anything else, similarly the mic key next
to it, from the three only Print Screen can be actually utilized by your system.

- If you would like to find keycaps that have the proper F keys instead of the
silly icons... you won't.

- Original keycaps are poorly visible without back-lighting even during the day.

Good things about this keyboard are:
- it is actually pretty quiet (i used the silicon rings though)
- the frame is nice
- the switches are good
But it is hard to enjoy any of it when the keyboard disconnects from Bluetooth
(turning the sleep mode off won't help you one bit).

It's great.

I decided to buy brown. I'm very satisfied that I pressed it. Premium material quality I really like it, especially LowProfile. It makes my use and layout simple.

Why didn't I get one sooner?!

I didn't realize how much I hated typing on my old membrane keyboard until I started using my new K5. What a magnificent difference! I got the Gateron red switches and it's such a pleasure to use. The feel of the textured concave keys are amazing, and it's barely louder than my old membrane keyboard. And I love the minimalistic design of the K5; the beautiful clean lines and space saving low profile size are just wonderful. Cool lighting effects too.

The K5 has included keycaps for both Windows and Mac operating systems.
